Vida Health, a digital healthcare company, needed a more scalable and reliable data stack to support personalized care for members with chronic conditions. Its homegrown Python and cron-based pipelines in BigQuery were fragile, hard to maintain, and too opaque for teams outside data engineering, often causing reporting downtime and slow issue resolution. dbt Labs provided dbt Cloud alongside Fivetran to help modernize the company’s data workflow.

With dbt Labs’ dbt Cloud and Fivetran, Vida Health centralized data from 148 connectors into BigQuery, refactored transformation logic into modular SQL, and improved collaboration across analytics, data science, clinical research, and product teams. The results included up to 80% of new data product work being self-served by analytics, a new stack implemented in less than six months, and root-cause analysis time reduced from two weeks to one day.
