SafetyCulture, a global safety and operations management software company headquartered in Sydney, Australia, needed a more scalable way to manage rapid data growth and company OKRs. Its data team was struggling with LookML-based transformations, manual dependency management, unclear sources of truth, and low reusability—issues that slowed insights and hurt morale.

Using dbt Labs and dbt Cloud, SafetyCulture rebuilt its data foundations, consolidated transformations in dbt, improved its Redshift architecture, and modernized its analytics workflow. The results included a 50% increase in compute and 100x disk at the same cost, pipeline query times dropping from 17 to 4 minutes, an 89-point rise in data team eNPS (-20 to +69), and a 2x increase in new customer retention.
