McDonald’s Nordics establishes a nimble and standardized Data Vault structure with dbt Cloud

McDonald’s Nordics needed a single, standardized data platform to unify reporting across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland, where each market used different systems and warehouse setups. Working with dbt Labs and dbt Cloud, the team set out to centralize data from sales, finance, and operations so they could support reporting for Food Folk and McDonald’s Global.

dbt Labs helped McDonald’s Nordics build a centralized stack on Snowflake and Fivetran using dbt Cloud and a Data Vault 2.0 model, accelerated with AutomateDV. The result was a more governed and traceable warehouse with faster delivery of historical data, including a reported 5x improvement, plus easier troubleshooting and the ability to quickly respond when stakeholders requested additional historical menu analysis.
