ING Bank Śląski, From Regular Nightly Service Calls to Stress-Free Deployments

ING Bank Śląski, one of Poland’s largest banks (over 8,000 employees and 4.4 million customers), faced nightly database deployment failures in its Application Development Team of about 40 people. A nightly data load into the Corporate Data Warehouse beginning at 11PM frequently failed due to environment inconsistencies and incomplete package installations, forcing developers to perform regular overnight fixes and harming team morale.

In October 2017 the bank deployed DBmaestro’s Database DevOps Platform, giving database-level version control, impact analysis, conflict detection and merge suggestions, and clear deployment KPIs. Used daily by 25 developers, the solution cut deployment errors and overnight interventions, reduced support effort and costs, and restored a sense of reliable, stress-free releases.
