Citizens Bank, the second largest bank in New England, needed to reduce geographic risk and protect critical banking data by moving its disaster recovery infrastructure from Massachusetts to North Carolina. Working with Daymark Solutions, the bank aimed to build a new DR environment that could support business continuity, control costs, and minimize disruption to customers while leveraging existing IBM infrastructure where possible.

Daymark Solutions helped architect, stage, and support the migration of Citizens Bank’s multi-million-dollar DR infrastructure, recommending IBM server upgrades and server consolidation where appropriate. Daymark also identified risk in moving older equipment and justified replacing obsolete systems with new IBM Power 770 servers, resulting in a more efficient DR site with expanded capacity, lower total cost of ownership, and improved preparedness for future growth.
