Frontline Justice launches Groundwork with Daylight after 10 expert interviews

Frontline Justice, a non-profit organization addressing the civil justice crisis in the United States, partnered with the design firm Daylight to create an inclusive online platform for community justice workers. The challenge was to forge a new path by building a digital space that could provide expert guidance and support for marginalized Americans, as there were few direct parallels for this kind of community platform in the justice sector.

Daylight implemented a comprehensive solution involving research, strategy, and design. This included developing a platform strategy centered on 'hackable' tools and creating connective tissue for workers, co-designing a prototype AI assistant for SNAP benefits, and building a scalable brand named Groundwork. As a result, the first segment of the platform, a peer-to-peer communication hub, successfully launched to the public. Frontline Justice is now using this foundation to secure further investment and continue building out the platform.
