Université de Saint‑Boniface, a francophone university of about 1,500 students and a long history as Western Canada’s first post‑secondary institution, faced administrative strain from a paper‑based HR system and a two‑person HR team. Managing three bargaining units plus non‑union staff, legacy procedures and limited French‑language support made payroll and HR processes slow, error‑prone and time consuming.

USB implemented Dayforce HCM (went live January 2017), using Payroll, Time & Attendance, Workforce Management and Recruiting, plus a mobile app and planned Onboarding. Self‑service time tracking and bi‑weekly reminders cut HR/payroll inquiries and eliminated paper timesheets—saving time, money and reducing environmental impact—while test‑environment training increased staff confidence; prompt French‑language support further sped up issue resolution.
