UL, a 125-year-old safety, certification, and testing company headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois, operates in 148 countries with about 14,000 employees. Facing highly manual payroll processes, complex regional tax requirements from multiple acquisitions, and a need to improve employee access and trust in pay data, UL sought a more robust, streamlined payroll solution.

UL implemented Ceridian Dayforce, including mobile access, to centralize payroll, improve reporting and manage tax complexity. The result: payroll errors dropped from roughly 1,000 to under 10 (then below 5), headcount for payroll processing was halved from eight to four, and UL gained faster, more reliable compliance, reporting, and employee self-service.
