Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in Hawaii with more than 100,000 members, 22 branches, and about 400 employees, faced a competitive labor market and the challenge of differentiating itself as an employer while supporting employee financial wellness. With a small HR team responsible for payroll, benefits, recruiting and engagement—and a workforce spanning ages 19 to 84—the credit union needed an intuitive, integrated HR solution to streamline operations, improve reporting, and help attract and retain talent.

Hawaii State FCU implemented Ceridian Dayforce as a single HCM platform and launched Dayforce Wallet to give employees on-demand access to earned wages, paired with mandatory financial education. The integrated system delivered real-time data, simplified reporting and faster recruiting, while Wallet has been adopted by 35% of staff, reducing financial stress and strengthening engagement and retention. The initiative also cut administrative costs, freed HR to focus on strategic priorities, and deepened the credit union’s long-term partnership with Ceridian.
