The Budd Group is a 60+-year-old, family-owned facilities services company employing about 5,000 frontline janitorial, maintenance, and landscaping workers across ten southeastern U.S. states. Faced with pandemic-era service demands, a competitive hourly labor market, and employees who were financially constrained and reliant on payroll advances or costly loans, the company needed a way to centralize workforce management and boost recruiting and retention.

After moving to Ceridian Dayforce for payroll, HR and mobile workforce access, The Budd Group rolled out Dayforce Wallet in 2021 to give employees on-demand access to earned pay. Nine months in, more than 2,000 employees registered and $3.2M was paid through ~60,000 transactions; the company saw 90-day attrition fall 12% and time-to-hire drop 31%, while payroll processes remained smooth and employee engagement and recruiting differentiation improved.
