Case Study: Trident Seafoods achieves streamlined seasonal workforce management with Dayforce

A Dayforce Case Study

Preview of the Trident Seafoods Case Study

The 9,000-employee seafood company uses Dayforce to help it align its workforce with the seasonality of the fishing industry

Trident Seafoods is a family-owned, vertically integrated seafood company with about 9,000 employees and processing operations across the U.S. and internationally, relying heavily on a seasonal workforce (3,000 year-round and 6,000 seasonal). The company faced complex payroll and HR challenges from diverse pay types, remote and mobile crews that move between jurisdictions, manual spreadsheet-based processes, and the need to recruit and manage thousands of workers quickly during peak seasons.

In 2014 Trident implemented Ceridian Dayforce as a single integrated system for HR, payroll, workforce and performance management. Dayforce provided real-time production and labor data, automated tax tracking by vessel location, and mobile access for employees—eliminating paper processes, cutting payroll errors and calls, reducing payroll headcount, improving scheduling and labor matching during peak seasons, and boosting employee engagement and retention.
