The Shore Hotel is a LEED-certified boutique property in Santa Monica with more than 200 employees delivering 24/7 guest service. Maintaining constant coverage across front desk, housekeeping and service teams created complex scheduling challenges and a heavy administrative burden—managers relied on multiple schedules, binders and manual forms for time-off, payroll and compliance.
In fall 2016 the hotel implemented Dayforce, moving HR, scheduling and payroll to a paperless, mobile platform. Employees can view schedules and request time off from their phones while managers gain better labor control and streamlined timecard approval, which reduced paperwork, improved payroll compliance, supported the hotel’s green goals, boosted staff engagement with technology, and positioned the business for growth.
