Organic Valley, a farmer-owned cooperative that supplies organic dairy and food products, faced the twin challenge of protecting its workforce and keeping production and distribution facilities running during the COVID-19 pandemic. With employees classified as essential, the cooperative needed to rapidly introduce safety protocols, manage changing schedules and leave, and keep communities supplied with food while supporting workers’ health and financial stability.
Working with Dayforce, Organic Valley implemented new safety policies, centralized communications, adjusted payroll and timekeeping, and offered up to 80 hours of paid leave for employees affected by COVID-19. These measures enabled fast policy changes and clear updates, helping the cooperative protect workers, maintain operations, and ensure continued food supply to communities.
