Hi-Kalibre Equipment Ltd., founded in 1986 and headquartered in Edmonton, is a global leader in blowout prevention equipment for the oil and gas industry with operations across multiple continents and about 120 employees at peak season. Rapid growth exposed inefficient, paper- and spreadsheet-based HR and payroll processes—manual timecards, repeated accuracy checks, and time-consuming reporting—that were creating errors and consuming significant staff time.
Hi-Kalibre implemented Ceridian Dayforce HCM, a single real-time, cloud-based system for time management, payroll/tax, benefits, HR and employee self-service that integrates with their ERP. The change eliminated manual processes, cut payroll processing from three days to three hours, and put online reporting and vacation/absence data at managers’ fingertips—freeing HR to focus on analysis and KPIs while improving accuracy and efficiency.
