A Dayforce Case Study
The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, a nonprofit with 26 branches and about 2,500 mostly part-time employees, struggled with manual, paper- and spreadsheet-based scheduling and a payroll system that lacked analytics and regulatory controls. The decentralized processes provided no remote visibility, were time-consuming for supervisors, and left the organization exposed to California’s complex labor laws.
The YMCA implemented Ceridian Dayforce Workforce Management and Ceridian HR/Payroll—adding time clocks and a Telerus mobile time-entry option—and used Dayforce’s built-in compliance monitoring to automatically flag split shifts, meal breaks and pay-rate issues. The change cut labor by 4,000 hours (6%) in one month, reduced payroll support staff by two full-time positions, sped supervisor tasks from a day to minutes, and improved legal and regulatory compliance.
