TD Bank, one of the 10 largest U.S. banks with more than 26,000 U.S. employees across the East Coast, sought to improve employee well‑being and engagement amid stressors like Hurricane Sandy and occasional branch robberies. Human Resources needed an employee assistance program to reduce absenteeism, curb turnover and help staff manage both everyday and critical incidents.
Partnering with Ceridian LifeWorks, TD Bank rolled out online resources, educational webinars and on‑site counseling (including rapid response after disasters and robberies), promoted to all employees and relatives as a free benefit. The program boosted engagement and outcomes reported by users: 53.4% missed less work, 56.1% reduced stress, 41.2% improved productivity and 47.4% felt more inclined to stay.
