Yuba City completes a full city tree inventory and urban forest master plan with Davey

The city of Yuba City sought to better manage and expand its urban forest. To achieve this, they engaged Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG), a division of Davey, to conduct a complete tree inventory and create a comprehensive Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP).

Davey implemented the solution by first performing a full inventory of all city-managed trees. They then developed a detailed UFMP that included canopy mapping, planting site prioritization, and operational work plans. A key part of their approach was fostering community engagement through a photo contest. The result was a strategic guide for the city's forestry program, which provided recommendations to strengthen the city's tree ordinance and aligned the urban forest's future with the community's broader vision and climate action goals.
