Wild Rice Electric Cooperative cuts storm outages to zero with Davey

Wild Rice Electric Cooperative, a member-owned utility in Minnesota, needed to reduce outages caused by vegetation encroachment on its distribution lines. They partnered with Davey Resource Group (DRG) to develop a data-driven, long-term vegetation management plan.

DRG created a solution using its proprietary ResourceKeeper system, combining aerial imagery, machine learning, and outage data to build an 8-year maintenance program. After implementing the first year's cycle, areas cleared using Davey's plan experienced zero outages following a major storm, improving reliability and aiding in record power restoration times.
