Town of Plainfield, Indiana advances tree management plan with Davey: 1,200-site assessment and 48 planting sites

The Town of Plainfield, Indiana engaged Davey Resource Group (DRG), a division of Davey Tree, to help implement its 2017 Public Tree Management Plan. The town required assistance with a wide range of urban forestry tasks, including conducting tree risk assessments and managing planting and maintenance programs.

Davey Resource Group provided a comprehensive solution that included conducting Level 1 and Level 2 tree risk assessments on over 5,500 trees, inspecting and planting new trees, and scheduling and writing specifications for removals and prunings. In one instance, DRG developed innovative strategies to improve safety at an intersection by raising the canopies of mature trees instead of removing them. The results included the successful planning and quality control of numerous tree maintenance operations, directly supporting the town's progress in executing its management plan.
