The Muny protects 12 acres of historic trees with Davey

The Muny, a historic outdoor musical theater in St. Louis, faced the challenge of preserving a large, decaying bur oak tree during stage renovations and subsequently managing the health and safety of numerous historic trees across its leased grounds. They engaged Davey Resource Group for urban forestry and tree risk assessment services.

Davey Resource Group provided a multi-phase solution, initially assessing the oak and collaborating on a design using silva cells for new stage-area trees. Over several years, Davey expanded its services to include general tree care, emerald ash borer management, storm response, and high-level aerial risk inspections for the busiest areas. This ongoing partnership, performed as a ONEDavey effort with other Davey divisions, ensured the safety of theatergoers and gave The Muny staff the confidence to preserve their historic tree canopy.
