Tampa Electric Co. (TECO) faced a challenge in meeting its commitment to trim vegetation along a significant number of its distribution line miles in 2018. The utility, serving West Central Florida, sought assistance from its contractors, including vendor Davey, to expand its vegetation management efforts.

Davey created and presented a comprehensive staffing and monitoring plan to tackle the increased workload. Impressed, TECO offered Davey the additional work. As a result, Davey increased its distribution mileage completion by 250%, from 176 miles in 2017 to 433 miles in 2018, helping TECO meet its maintenance target.
