A Davey Case Study
Davey Resource Group was contracted by Schnabel Engineering to handle comprehensive environmental permitting and studies for the rehabilitation of dam and dike structures at the Round Valley Reservoir. The challenge involved navigating complex regulations from multiple agencies, including the NJDEP and US Fish and Wildlife Service, for a project impacting wetlands and potential habitats for protected species.
The solution from Davey included wetland delineation, preparing Environmental Information Documents, and securing key permits like a Freshwater Wetlands Permit and a Highlands Planning Area Exemption. Davey also conducted cultural and biological surveys, including for bog turtles and endangered bats, and created a Reforestation Plan. The results were successful, with all necessary permits and approvals obtained from the NJDEP and the Highlands Council, allowing the critical infrastructure project to move forward in compliance with all environmental regulations.
