San Diego Gas & Electric plants 25,000+ trees with Davey

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) faced the challenge of meeting its ambitious sustainability goal to plant 10,000 trees annually to support biodiversity and sequester carbon. To facilitate this, specifically through its Sustainable Tree Program, the utility enlisted its longstanding partner Davey and its consulting division, Davey Resource Group (DRG), for assistance.

Davey Resource Group implemented a solution that involved coordinating with local communities and using its proprietary ResourceKeeper software to manage the program and track plantings. This effort resulted in SDG&E surpassing its goal, with over 25,000 trees planted since 2021 and a waiting list of over 4,000 people and organizations, significantly increasing community tree canopy and providing environmental benefits.
