Redwood Apartments preserves 40 acres and limits disturbance to 18 acres with Davey

Redwood Apartments, an apartment complex in Copley, OH, required a site plan for a new 100-unit development on a 58-acre property where 40 acres were protected natural habitats. Their challenge was to complete the necessary land development, including infrastructure and stormwater systems, while minimizing disruption to these preserved areas. They engaged Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) for its civil engineering and site planning services.

Davey implemented a thoughtful design that disturbed only 18 total acres and less than 0.5 acres of wetlands. Their solution included a low-pressure grinder pump sanitary system to reduce upfront costs and the strategic placement of four stormwater basins. As a result, the majority of the property (40 acres) was conserved in its natural state, providing ongoing ecological and stormwater benefits. Davey successfully delivered the project while meeting all client needs and regulatory complexities.
