Presbyterian Homes restores 900+ feet of shoreline with Davey

The customer, Presbyterian Homes, faced shoreline erosion along Lake Johanna at their property in Arden Hills, Minnesota. They engaged the vendor, Davey, specifically Davey Resource Group (DRG), to address this environmental challenge and restore a healthy, native ecosystem.

Davey implemented a three-phase shoreline restoration solution between 2019 and 2020. They used specialized soil bioengineering tools like BioD-Blocks and erosion control logs to stabilize over 900 linear feet of shoreline. The project also included native plantings, a paver patio for resident engagement, and plans for a stormwater-capturing rain garden. The results significantly reduced erosion, promoted a native habitat, and created new recreational spaces for the residents to connect with the lakeshore landscape.
