Pacific Gas and Electric removes 1 hazardous oak with Davey to protect gas line inspections

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) faced a challenge when a necessary gas line inspection required excavation near a large oak tree on a resident's property. They enlisted Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) and its environmental consulting services to assess the potential impact on the tree and determine a safe course of action.

Davey's environmental specialist identified a severe carpenter ant infestation and heart rot in the tree, making removal the safest option. DRG coordinated the safe removal of the hazardous tree with the resident's understanding. The solution not only allowed PG&E's project to proceed safely but also eliminated a threat to overhead electrical lines, preventing a potential future outage. Davey's team further mitigated the loss by planting replacement vegetation on the property.
