Ottawa County Landfill restores wetlands with Davey using 10,000 plants over 10 years

The Ottawa County Landfill needed to comply with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Ohio EPA permits by providing wetland mitigation for its landfill expansion. They engaged Davey Resource Group, a division of Davey, for environmental design and wetland restoration services.

Davey and its sub-consultants restored hydrology by disrupting farm tile, excavating depressions, and constructing berms. They then seeded the area and installed approximately 10,000 native trees and shrubs. Davey is providing long-term monitoring and management for ten years to ensure the restored wetlands meet all permit performance standards.
