MIT inventories 2,300 trees with Davey

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) needed a comprehensive and accurate inventory of its campus trees to inform its urban forestry management in Cambridge, MA. MIT engaged Davey, specifically Davey Resource Group, to address this challenge and gain a clear understanding of its tree assets.

Davey implemented a solution that included a detailed tree inventory of approximately 2,300 trees, collecting data on location, condition, and risk. They provided a full Tree Management Plan and introduced the TreeKeeper® system for ongoing management. As a result, MIT now proactively manages over 2,200 trees using this system to schedule work, track maintenance, and quantify the benefits of its urban forest.
