A Davey Case Study
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) partnered with Davey Resource Group (DRG), a division of Davey Tree, to address the challenge of invasive species overgrowth in southwest Michigan state game lands. This overgrowth was threatening the health of the ecosystem and the ideal habitat for local wildlife, including endangered species.
The Davey team implemented a targeted invasive species control solution, which included brush cutting, chainsaw work, and cut stump herbicide treatments. This approach successfully removed harmful plants like autumn olive and honeysuckle, promoting healthier understory vegetation growth. By carefully targeting invasive species and avoiding sensitive areas, Davey helped create a safer, more robust habitat for wildlife, exceeding the client's expectations and leading to a continued partnership.
