Indiana Rail Road clears 500-mile rail network with Davey, including 71 miles sprayed and 50 miles mechanically trimmed

Indiana Rail Road, a privately held freight railroad, needed a comprehensive vegetation management plan to protect its assets and ensure safety along its 500-mile network. The company sought a true partnership with a single vendor for efficient mechanical and herbicide control. They connected with Davey's Rail Division to address this challenge.

Davey implemented a combined solution using specialized high-rail spray trucks for herbicide application and equipment like bucket trucks and mulchers for woody vegetation. This program cleared crossings for line-of-sight and maintained the right-of-way to meet federal standards. The results show Davey has cleared 71 miles with herbicide and 50 miles mechanically since 2021, enabling Indiana Rail Road to coordinate work with minimal train delay and maintain a safer railway.
