Hoosier Energy saves 9,000 hours with Davey

Hoosier Energy, a midwestern U.S. based utility, faced challenges with its outage investigation and customer ticket systems. Their process was reactive, with late investigations often yielding inconclusive data on tree-related outages, and a paper-based reporting system that was highly manual and inefficient. They partnered with vendor Davey Resource Group (DRG) to address these issues.

DRG implemented a proactive outage investigation program using their Rover data collection system to log details and track customer tickets promptly. This digital transformation included a collaborative work document and dashboard reporting. The solution uncovered that most outages were not caused by trees, guiding the utility's Storm Hardening Program to improve reliability metrics like SAIFI and CMI. Furthermore, Davey's digital ticket system saved Hoosier Energy nearly 9,000 hours.
