A Davey Case Study
A major Southeastern U.S. utility, Hoosier Energy, faced a massive power outage after Hurricane Laura devastated Louisiana, leaving over 568,000 of its customers without electricity due to severe damage to its transmission and distribution systems. Davey provided storm response and tree clearing services to enable critical repairs.
Davey mobilized 54 crew members and three foremen to Lake Charles to clear fallen trees and debris from power lines and roadways. This work allowed the utility's crews to complete a full system rebuild. As a result of Davey's efforts, power was fully restored to all customers in the hardest-hit area within six weeks of the hurricane.
