Hoosier Energy maps 143 miles of transmission lines with Davey

New Horizon Electric Cooperative, a service provider for five power distribution cooperatives in South Carolina, needed to perform a field inventory of its transmission lines to ensure reliable electric service for over 190,000 customers. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG).

Davey Resource Group implemented a solution where its field technicians collected data using Futura GIS software. Over four months, DRG inventoried 143 miles of transmission line, 21 breaker stations, and 95 substations. This provided New Horizon with the data needed to build a connectivity model, improving their ability to manage infrastructure, identify potential outages, and restore power quickly.
