Hinckley Township preserves 100 acres with Davey

The customer, Hinckley Township, OH, faced a challenge in approving the Trails at Redwood Falls subdivision, a 98-lot development on a former golf course. The township's Zoning Commission required careful planning to address environmental and sustainability concerns. The vendor, Davey Resource Group (DRG), a division of Davey, provided civil engineering, surveying, and sustainable site planning services to meet these requirements.

Davey implemented a thoughtful design that included roadways following existing tree lines and a low-pressure grinder pump sanitary collection system to minimize groundwater impact and land disturbance. This allowed DRG to place 100 acres into a conservation easement, protecting wetlands. Furthermore, Davey collaborated with a preservation group to reforest one acre of the former course and is seeking grants to reforest an additional 8-10 acres, extending the project's environmental benefits.
