A Davey Case Study
Gorman Heritage Farm, a working farm and educational center in Cincinnati, faced a challenge managing stormwater runoff from its hillsides and barnyard areas. To support its sustainability mission and protect local water quality, the farm engaged Davey Resource Group to design and build a green infrastructure solution.
Davey Resource Group implemented a custom-designed stormwater wetland system featuring three cells separated by limestone seepage walls. These walls doubled as walkways, preserving the site's historic character. The solution included extensive native plantings to filter pollutants. The system now effectively detains and infiltrates runoff, improving water quality in the Mill Creek Watershed by reducing sediment, nutrients, and bacteria before they reach a headwater stream.
