A Davey Case Study
The Department of Defense required environmental permitting for expansion projects at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The challenge involved navigating the complex regulatory process for wetland and stream impacts associated with new training facilities, roads, and utility installations. Davey Resource Group was engaged to perform the necessary baseline environmental investigations and prepare the permit applications.
Davey Resource Group delineated wetlands and streams, conducted threatened species surveys, and prepared comprehensive applications for Section 404 and 401 permits. The Davey team served as the key contact between base personnel and regulatory agencies, prepared alternatives analyses, and identified appropriate compensatory mitigation. This allowed the Department of Defense to successfully secure the authorizations needed to complete its expansion projects.
