Davey Resource Group closes Caton Creek mitigation bank with Davey after restoring 25,000 feet of channel

Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) was tasked with overseeing the construction and monitoring of the first-ever stream and wetland mitigation bank in the Low Country of South Carolina. The project, located in Monck, SC, required comprehensive services including baseline assessments, mitigation plan design, and construction management for the Caton Creek Mitigation Bank.

Davey Resource Group successfully managed the project, which restored approximately 25,000 feet of stream channel and enhanced or preserved nearly 5,000 feet of tributaries. DRG provided continued annual monitoring services, using specialized equipment and software to analyze hydrological and geomorphological data, until the project's completion in 2023. The vendor's work is anticipated to lead to a successful full credit release from the US Army Corps of Engineers in 2024.
