A Davey Case Study

Preview of the City of Pittsburgh, PA Case Study

City of Pittsburgh strengthens its urban forest over 20 years with Davey

The City of Pittsburgh, PA sought to strengthen its urban forest with a long-term management strategy. To address this, they partnered with Davey Resource Group, a division of Davey Tree, to develop a comprehensive Urban Forest Master Plan, leveraging services like tree inventory and i-Tree Eco analysis.

Davey developed a "State of the Urban Forest" report using inventory data and i-Tree Eco plots to quantify tree benefits and maintenance costs, identifying canopy-deficient areas. Based on this, Davey helped establish a 20-year master plan with goals and recommendations built around five keystones of urban forest management. This plan provides a clear roadmap to ensure Pittsburgh's urban forest remains a vital and well-managed asset for the future.
