A Davey Case Study
The City of Mahtomedi faced significant erosion and poor water quality at The Lost Lake in Wildwood Park, with issues including undercut banks and headcuts. The city enlisted Davey Resource Group, a division of Davey, to perform shoreline stabilization and ecosystem restoration to address these challenges.
Davey Resource Group implemented a comprehensive solution that involved removing invasive vegetation, installing coir logs and erosion control blankets, and regrading slopes. The team planted 1,500 native plugs and shrubs to revegetate the area and installed a stone fishing node to provide access. The project, supported by a grant, successfully stabilized the shoreline, restored habitat, and improved the lake's water quality. Davey is also providing one year of maintenance to ensure the new plantings are established.
