City of Buffalo re-inventories 110,000+ trees with Davey

The City of Buffalo, NY faced the challenge of managing an outdated urban tree inventory that was over ten years old. Their existing database system could not support the volume of required work or provide a public-facing component. The city selected Davey Resource Group, a division of Davey Tree, to conduct a complete re-inventory of its urban forest.

Davey implemented a comprehensive solution, first verifying and updating records for over 110,000 trees, stumps, and planting sites. Davey then uploaded the data into its TreeKeeper® system and programmed a custom Contractor Portal that integrated with the city's 311 system. This streamlined work order management for contractors. As a result, Buffalo now has a clear, actionable picture of its urban forest and utilizes Davey's TreeKeeper for all ongoing record-keeping and maintenance management.
