Beyond Housing expands tree canopy in 24:1 area communities with Davey

Beyond Housing, a community development organization, aimed to enhance its urban forestry efforts in the St. Louis County, MO, area with the help of an EPA grant. Their challenge was to expand tree planting and conservation by first understanding their existing tree canopy. They partnered with Davey Resource Group (DRG) to conduct a comprehensive tree canopy assessment and provide actionable data for planning.

Davey Resource Group implemented a solution focused on equity and usability. They delivered a detailed technical report for professionals and a separate community report for public stakeholders, supplemented by an online storymap and TreeKeeper® canopy system for visualization. DRG's work provided Beyond Housing with the critical data and visual tools needed to effectively plan for and increase the community's tree canopy, supporting their broader forestry initiatives.
