Baltimore Gas & Electric processes 250 line miles in 3 weeks with Davey

Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) faced the challenge of identifying and removing hazardous vegetation encroaching on its transmission lines before it could cause equipment damage, outages, or regulation violations. To address this, BGE engaged Davey Resource Group (DRG) to process LiDAR data for efficient hazard detection.

Davey Resource Group processed the LiDAR data using its proprietary ResourceKeeper software, completing the initial 250 line miles in approximately three weeks. This rapid turnaround enabled BGE to quickly dispatch crews to remove the flagged vegetation. As a result of the successful partnership, BGE expanded the project, requesting DRG to process an additional 420 line miles in 2024.
