CBM IT is a small managed service provider in Edmonton, Alberta, led by IT Director Curtis Hemingway. With a five-person team supporting about 30 managed-service clients and converting 100+ break-fix clients, CBM needed a more complete, predictable business continuity and disaster recovery (BDR) solution and stronger local support than their previous vendor provided.
CBM replaced their old backup product with Datto’s BDR platform, gaining a full failover capability that restored mail quickly when an Exchange server crashed, local Canadian billing to avoid exchange fees, and stronger partner resources and tech support. The result was more reliable protection, simpler cost forecasting, and a better overall partnership that supports CBM’s proactive managed-services model.
