Anchor Point IT Solutions, a California-based MSP that protects small and midsized businesses with Datto backup appliances, faced a critical challenge when a neighboring warehouse fire soaked a manufacturing customer’s offices and left computers and servers sitting in four inches of water. The client’s California office was the data hub for international operations, so rapid business continuity was essential to avoid major disruption.

Using a Datto SIRIS appliance with 30-minute backups to Datto’s private cloud, Anchor Point virtualized the two servers (one TB of data) in the cloud, provided VPN access, loaner workstations, and a VoIP phone solution with call forwarding. Within five hours—by noon that same day—the manufacturer was back to work, avoiding significant downtime and data loss.
