Stratatech Group, a managed service provider in Norwalk, Connecticut, was evaluating a new small-business client and found their existing Windows Server was more complex and costly than needed. The challenge was to recommend the right-fit solution that met the client’s requirements, resources and budget while still providing reliable file sharing, backup and security.

Stratatech replaced the server with a Datto NAS (DN500), configured for 3–4 shared volumes and daily snapshots. The NAS delivered file sharing, backup, versioning and snapshotting in a simple, secure, cost-effective “solution in a box,” meeting the client’s needs without unnecessary server complexity.
