TelcoGeek, an IT services provider in Santa Barbara led by CEO Chad Monroe, needed a way to speed up and simplify customer Wi‑Fi and switch deployments for SMBs and residences while reducing provisioning errors and ongoing software maintenance. Traditional switch setup and per-customer config files were time-consuming, and the company also needed PoE support for VoIP phones plus integration with its existing monitoring and alerting systems.
Switching to Open Mesh hardware and CloudTrax let TelcoGeek pre‑provision access points by MAC before gear arrived, rely on automatic software updates at bring‑up, and drop‑ship units without issue. The new S Series switches (e.g., OMS24/S8) cut switch prep from about an hour to roughly 10 minutes offline and under 5 minutes onsite, access-point installs take about 10 minutes, and SNMP support let the switches plug into the legacy monitoring system — delivering faster installs, fewer errors, and simpler scaled deployments.
