Conn Valley Vineyards needed reliable connectivity in their underground barrel caves, where no cell reception left staff and guests unable to process sales, make calls, collect winemaking data, or use social media. They hired local MSP David Mercer Consulting to extend the winery’s network from the main building up the hill and into the cave system.

Mercer deployed Open Mesh point‑to‑point wireless to span ~1,300 ft, ran ethernet into the cave, installed a PoE switch and two MR1750 APs (plus outdoor A60 units at the main building), and used cloud monitoring to troubleshoot power issues quickly. The result: stable WiFi and VOIP in the caves, on‑site POS and data access for staff, and guest connectivity for posting and calls — eliminating the need to return to the main building.
