Bluff City Grill is a 150‑seat restaurant and bar in downtown Alton, Illinois, housed in a converted insurance office and dry cleaner. Owners wanted to add reliable, business‑quality Wi‑Fi for guests and staff, but faced cost, manageability and coverage challenges because the space spans separate brick/concrete and newer addition areas.

IT consultant Tim McDonough deployed three Open Mesh access points in ceiling enclosures with PoE and used the CloudTrax cloud controller to manage the network remotely. He set up two SSIDs (WPA2 for staff, a public guest network with per‑device tunneling, bandwidth limits and a branded splash page); the system has run reliably since launch, enabling business lunches and events while remaining easy and inexpensive to monitor and support.
