Pacific University reduces staff workload by 90% with Datos Health

Pacific University, a diverse learning community with over 4,700 students and staff, faced the challenge of keeping its campuses safe during the Covid-19 pandemic to continue in-person learning. The university needed a highly automated and flexible remote patient engagement platform to implement complex and ever-changing CDC guidelines for monitoring thousands of individuals, which it sought with the assistance of Morlen Health. They turned to vendor Datos Health and its Open Care platform for a solution.

Datos Health implemented its platform to power the Covid-19 Navigator application, which used automated questionnaires and a rules engine for triage and case management. This solution reduced the staff workload associated with screening by 90%, cutting the required effort from 15 FTEs down to two. The platform also shortened the classroom entry process from up to 45 minutes to mere seconds, contributed to some of the lowest positive test rates in the region, and enhanced the feeling of safety on campus.
