Co-op, a major UK retailer, faced the challenge of migrating its massive on-premises data warehouse to Microsoft Azure Synapse. The conventional approach, involving a full rewrite of its extensive codebase, was deemed too costly, time-consuming, and risky, especially as the company was simultaneously implementing a new ERP system.
